Steve Conway

Born and raised in the Northwoods, graduate of Crandon High School, Crandon, Wi, University of Wisconsin-Madison earning a degree in Nuclear Engineering and an MBA in Finance. Spent 10 years with Alliant Energy, first in Power Plant Construction and then as Manager of Purchasing.

My wife and I decided to move back to the Northwoods to raise our two boys, and enjoy the outdoors, lakes, snow, and family in the area. We purchased our first of many business interests. Although Alma was a practicing SLP with a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology, we both became active in operating our growing movie theatre exhibition business in Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, and Florida. During this time, I was also an Associate Professor of Business at UW-Stevens Point and a small business consultant for the SBA.

Our family business grew over the next forty years, with acquisitions and expansions. As a result, we gained extensive experience in financing new ventures, business planning, business management, human relations, marketing, and finally business succession. These successful businesses were then sold, and we have moved to the next phase of our 54 years of marriage.

I have joined Burkett and Associates, hoping to bring insights I have gained over the past 40 years in the Northwoods to my clients, and Alma has started her own real estate venture of buying, improving, and “flipping” property.
